Want China Times: China unable to defeat US in carrier battle: Russian expert
Konstantin Sivkov, a Russian defense analyst, said in his piece written for Moscow-based Military Parade that even as China speeds up the development of its first domestic aircraft carrier, it would still be unable to defeat the United States in a future carrier battle.
Sivkov said that China had successfully changed the equipment aboard the Liaoning, the nation's first aircraft carrier introduced from Ukraine, to use domestic products. A Type 382 Sea Eagle S/C air-search radar which allows Liaoning to track 10 targets in the air simultaneously can be seen aboard the ship. It is also fitted with a set of four active electronically scanned array radar panels which give the Liaoning a very similar air defense capability to the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, according to Sivkov.

Not really a surprise. The Americans have more carriers than the rest of the world combined and more aircraft per carrier than some airforces. The zeitgeist these days seems to be how China and Russia are growing in power and the US is declining but the US is now energy independent and in a conventional confrontation with either would still smash them on the battlefield. The US military is battle hardened as well as having the best weaponry and the rest of Nato on its side. While Russians may argue Nato is weak I.E Georgia and Ukraine, neither is a Nato member and worth starting WWIII over. Luckily for us, we have a Democrat president in place who doesn't feel the need to warmonger. God help us all if Trump gets in though...
