Nigeria now has nude posers! Yeah, unfortunately,we now do.This is something we used to think was "that rubbish white people do",now i guess things have changed. I want to talk about the latest one in town. Her name is Beverly Osu, and I had to ''Google'' her to find out who she is and what she is about. All I found is Vanity. Pointless, shallow, debasing, attention and fame seeking vanity. Not that I think seeking fame is wrong. Many great scientist and inventors sought fame which basically led to their achievements. But for Miss Beverly, I found no great W.A.E.C results or achievemment, no daring rescue, no great selfless act, no great invention or contribution to Nigeria. So why do we care about her naked body? Big Brother Africa. Yes. Remember that show? That annoying waste of my time and TV space? Well, not criticising lovers of the show, I just never liked that show. I watched like two episodes and totally lost interest. But we aren't here to talk about BBA. We are here to talk about Beverly Osu. We are here to talk about Nigerians. We are here to talk about the fact that we now seem to accept anything mordernization throws at us.Must we start allowing the worst of our people dominate our popular culture? The likes of Maheeda, Afrocandy and now beverly osu should not set the pace of our acceptable behaviours and norms. The west lost in terms of culture, why must we follow suit? Not everything the west does is great. I believe if their fore fathers had forseen this kind of decay in their countries when they where designing them, they would have put up preventive measures. I think they just never imagined that full functioning, well fed and educated people could ever find a way to justify walking around nude! lol .So my question to us today is , why are we allowing this same decay today.

Memorise: And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook: and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there. - 1 Kings 17:4.
Read: 1 Kings 17:2-6 (KJV)
2. And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,
3. Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
4. And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.
5. So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
6. And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.
Bible In One Year: Genesis 45-46; Romans 1:1-17
MESSAGE:
Our God is awesome, and His ways are beyond finding out. Nobody can box God into a pattern or regimen. He can use anything He chooses to achieve His purpose on earth. God uses those who are lowly placed, and He also uses the rich. Luke 8:1-3 tells of some wealthy women who ministered to Jesus from their resources. Mary Magdalene and other women blessed by the Lord resolved to serve Him with the resources they had. Are you rich or wealthy? Do you serve the Lord with your substance? Experience has shown that those who have little are the ones who dare to give their all to God. This was the case with the widow who dropped her mites (Mark 12:41-44). Usually, the rich only give a fraction of what they have because they believe they are giving something big. However, God does not judge by size, He judges by proportion. Hence, the poor can give more than the rich in the sight of God, even if what they give is not as much as what the rich have given in quantity. Justifying why the widow's gift was more than what the rich gave, Jesus in Mark 12:44 said:
"For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living."
Moreover, not only can God use humans to accomplish His purpose, He can also use animals. In 1 Kings 17:2-6, God sent ravens to deliver food to His servant, and they obeyed. We have equally seen Him use birds too. When we began to build the Redemption Camp in those early years, there were some trees that provided shade which I instructed the workers to preserve. Some little birds came in their hundreds of thousands to perch on these trees. Whenever they descended on them, there would be no leaves left on the trees the following day. They were also very noisy. I wondered if they were demonic birds. Some of my children who had guns would enter their midst and fire some shots; yet, they refused to go away. Some birds were hit by the fired bullets and dropped dead, but the rest stayed on. At some point, it appeared the more they were killed, the more they multiplied! The situation became unbearable. I therefore called on God to help us one morning. That evening, several eagles came and began to eat them up. Within hours, there was not a single one of them left. God has not stopped using birds! If He needs to send birds to meet your needs, He will do so; but you need to show Him that you can serve Him with all He has given to you. How faithfully have you served God? To what extent can you risk your life and all He has given to you for His service?
Key Point: God can mobilise all of His resources to satisfy the needs of those who can give Him their all.

Not only was there a big mummy cockroach taking up residence in his ear canal, but she had spawned 25 little baby roaches.
The 19-year-old patient, known only as Mr Li, had gone to hospital after his ear became itchy and painful.
Doctors took a look inside his ear and were shocked to discover it was crawling with tiny insects.
They believe the female cockroach went inside Mr Li's ear several weeks before laying her eggs.
Doctors said that had Mr Li not come to hospital in time, his ear would have been "destroyed".
Yang Jing, a doctor from Chang'an Xiaobian Hospital in Dongguan, told TVS: "We saw an insect-shaped object blocking his ear canal completely."
Cockroaches, who are often pitched as the only creature that would survive a nuclear explosion, are hardy insects that can survive for months with no food.

This new initiative will empower local app developers in Nigeria to monetize their content & benefit commercially from their innovation.
Under this agreement, neXva will provide Airtel Nigeria with a full app store ecosystem that will be deployed through several platforms including a customized website, mobile website and Android app as well as a developer portal for the localization of the app store.
Speaking on the new initiative, Maurice Newa, Chief Commercial Officer of Airtel Nigeria, said: "We want to bring locally relevant mobile applications to our customers as well as continue to drive local application development by empowering talented app developers in Nigeria.
"We selected neXva for this strategic alliance because of their robust technology offering and the unique advantage they offer local app developers to monetize their content. We realize that localization is key to the success of Airtel's app stores in Nigeria," he said.
"Bringing neXva's app store platform to Nigeria is a great opportunity for neXva, "said Brian J. Friedman, founder and CEO of neXva. "Deploying our app store platform along with a highly curated selection of content will, for the first time, bring relevant, localized apps to Airtel's subscribers in Nigeria.
"Localized content combined with our direct connection to the Airtel Africa markets brings a unique opportunity for local and international developers and content providers to monetize their content through neXva's neXpayer™ operator billing API that enables content purchases through the mobile wallet."
The neXva powered Airtel app stores consist of free and premium applications and will be available for all feature phones and smartphones. The stores feature "one-click" billing that enables Airtel's customers to purchase apps through their operator billing as well as neXva's neXpayer™ technology that enables in-app purchases and subscription billing.
Browsing on the site will attract no charges; however, customers will have to pay for premium apps.
Customers can access the Airtel Appstore by dialing the USSD code *905# to get the link to the URL or visiting www.apps.ng.airtellive.com or by searching for the android app on Google play

In the heartbreaking images, the man offers out a handful of biros, clutching a plastic bag of more pens while his little daughter sleeps wrapped over his shoulder. The photos of the father and child went viral after they were posted two days ago on Twitter by activist Gissur Simonarson.
He was then inundated with requests to help the man and so Gissur, based in Norway, announced he was going to try to find him.
He launched a Twitter account named #BuyPens and within 30 minutes, someone on Twitter contacted Gissur saying he saw the man every day around his house.
Incredibly, twenty-four hours later the man and his daughter were identified as single dad-of-two Abdul and his daughter Reem, four and a half.
Gissi launched a crowdfunding page to raise money to help Abdul start a new life for his family.
Amazingly, in the first 30 minutes Gissur's goal of $5,000 was raised.
He wrote: "We have reached my goal of $5,000 in the first 30 min.
"This was never meant as a cap, just something to start with.
"Let's make sure that Abdul and Reem can really start a great new life.
"All extra donations will of course go directly to them as well."
The fundraising total has reached more than $37,859 in 11 hours and continues to go up.

Washington Post: The F-35 vs. the A-10 Warthog, head-to-head in close-air support. It's on.
One of the biggest battles between Congress and the Pentagon over the past year has been over a snub-nosed grunt of an airplane, a jet so ugly (and fierce) it's nicknamed the "Warthog." It is beloved by the troops, particularly those who have been saved when the A-10 Thunderbolt II, and its huge 30 mm cannon, swooped in to save them in combat.
But despite the aircraft's revered status, the Air Force has said it has no choice but to retire the fleet at a time of budget constraints. The A-10, officials have said, is designed for a single purpose—taking out enemy ground troops at such close range—a mission that could be taken over by the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, the Pentagon's $400 billion next-generation fighter jet.
Update: A-10 the Pentagon Wants to Retire Will Get Fly-Off Against F-35 -- Bloomberg
WNU Editor: So much for the top U.S. Air Force general saying earlier this week that such a contest would be a "silly exercise" .... U.S. Air Force's Top General Denies Reports That The F-35 And The A-10 Are Going To Square Off In Close Air-Support Tests.

Marwan Hisham, Vanity Fair: Scenes from Inside Aleppo: How Life Has Been Transformed by Rebel Rule
A Syrian writer revisits the city he attended college in, with sketches by Molly Crabapple.
I first moved to Aleppo 10 years ago. At that time, the city was the world for me: the glorious past and the present, the bitter and the sweet. I attended university in mid-Aleppo's wealthy neighborhoods. To get there, I took the bus from my apartment in the crowded Al-Myassar, one of Aleppo's poorest slums. We rode by the ancient gates of Bab Al-Hadid and Bab Al-Nasr, through which the Silk Road once curved. Old Aleppo's walls had vanished over the years, but its gates survived as if to remind residents of their history: the city may have been destroyed before, by Mongols and by earthquakes, but every time it got up on its feet again.
WNU Editor: The above video is an Al Jazeera documentary done earlier this year on what the Syrian civil war has done to Aleppo.

In-grown hairs affect both male and females and can be unsightly and embarrassing. It can affect people to varying degrees; in its extreme it can cause low self-esteem and concerns about one's appearance. Understanding this condition and recognizing that there is effective and proventreatment is important. We are able to treat this condition effectively.
It occurs in persons of all ages and affects commonly the beard region and nape of the neck but can also affect other areas of the body after shaving including the chest, armpits and groin areas. It is a common condition especially in black people.
The problem results when highly curved hairs grow back into the skin causing inflammation and a foreign body reaction. The Hairs penetrate the skin before leaving the hair follicle or they leave the follicle and curve back into the skin, causing a foreign-body reaction/Irritation
Ingrown hairs are particularly a problem where you shave because the hair that grows back has a sharper edge and can easily poke back into the skin.Over time, the area can also be itchy and tender and as previously mentioned it can cause scattered red bumps/lumps over the area. It can cause keloidal scarring which looks like hard bumps of the beard area and neck. It can also cause severe darkening of the area a condition called post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation.

Graham Cleary-Senior allegedly knifed Frances Cleary-Senior, a 49-year-old staff nurse at the Royal Oldham Hospital in Manchester, after she returned home from work to find him drunk.
Mrs Cleary-Senior survived the attack and underwent major surgery at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
But tragically, days before she was due to leave hospital she contracted pneumonia and died.
In a police statement, Mrs Cleary-Senior described the prelude to the stabbing.
"He came towards me me waving the knife about, saying he was going to stab me. I replied 'go on, do it, I'm sick of you threatening me to do it...he then stabbed me with the knife in my chest."A 999 call played to the jury captures the aftermath. Mrs Cleary-Senior says 'my husband's stabbed me...please help', before her breathing becomes laboured. As police arrive, a man's voice can be heard in the background saying: "It's my fault."
Mrs Cleary-Senior's sister, Pauline Ayres, said that after the stabbing her sister told her Mr Cleary-Senior had been 'very controlling', adding: "Frances was quite a vulnerable person - she believed that nobody cared about her".
Manchester Crown Court heard that in hospital visits after the stabbing Frances Cleary-Senior told a detective about her marital problems, said to revolve around financial difficulties and her husband's drinking.
DC Carol Buckley told the court: "Six weeks into their marriage she said she found out Graham was an alcoholic and also that he was a transvestite. She turned up home early after her shift and he was dressed in ladies' clothes that weren't hers."
DC Buckley said the victim told her Mr Cleary-Senior prevented her from seeing her family.
The former merchant seaman had been sacked by a shipping company after he was found 'unconscious' through drink.
The jury was also told arguments between the pair were 'sometimes violent', that Mrs Cleary-Senior 'had a black eye once', and that Mr Cleary-Senior 'brought a knife out' six times, on one occasion hitting her on the head with it.
"I asked why she stayed with him - she said she stayed with him for love", DC Buckley added.Frances Cleary-Senior tragically succumbed to pneumonia in hospital
Cleary-Senior, 56, of Alt Lane, Oldham, denies murder.
The trial continues.

It was gathered that the body was discovered in his apartment located at Orisunmbare Street, Cultural Centre, Akure, 4 days after he allegedly poisoned himself.
It was gathered that neighbours of the deceased had earlier reported to his older brother, Segun, that Gbenga was missing.
Reports had it that his older brother, Segun, called the deceased's phone several times without getting any response from him.
So he decided to go visit him, on getting there, Segun discovered that the doors and window of his brother's room were locked from inside.
He, and other neighbours, went to the police station to make a report, some Police men went back with them and the door was forced open where the decomposing body was found on the bed.
The remains were later evacuated and deposited in the general hospital morgue by the police detectives for post-mortem examination.
It was learned that the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, CIID, of the state police command was currently working to unravel the mystery surrounding his death.
A police source said that findings so far suggested that the deceased may have poisoned himself, having lost his job a few weeks ago.
The command's spokesman, Wole Ogodo, confirmed the incident and said detectives had launched an investigation to unravel the mystery surrounding the death.
