The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers in the House of Representatives have warned the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in the National Assembly against postponement of the resumption date which has been fixed for July 28.

Addressing a news conference after a caucus meeting in the House of Representatives, the Spokesman of the PDP caucus, Leo Ogor, said that the National Assembly was scheduled to resume on Tuesday July 21 but the resumption date was postponed to July 28 because of the internal crisis among APC lawmakers in the Senate and House of Representatives.

He advised the APC to put its house in order and end the face off in the parliament.

The camp of the Speaker is still insisting that the principle of federal character be implemented in the choice of the remaining principal officers in the House but the other camp is accusing the Speaker of hypocrisy.

The PDP lawmakers, during their news conference, also said that they were dismayed by the arrest of the former President Jonathan’s Chief Security Officer, Gordon Obua.

Representative Leo Ogor further said that the PDP lawmakers in the House of Representatives were equally disappointed with President Buhari for not going to the U.S with any federal lawmaker, bearing in mind that the President was scheduled to visit the U.S Congress.

Former Head of Service of the Federation, Mr Steve Oronsaye, has been granted bail on self-recognition by a Federal High Court in Abuja, Nigeria's capital.

Mr Oronsaye who was charged along with two others for 1.9 billion naira money laundering, will deposit his travel documents with the court to fully secure his bail.

A Federal High Court had granted the former Head of Service interim bail on June 13, based on self-recognition and undertaking by his counsel that he would be present in court along with his co-accused.

The court then ordered that they return to court to argue their bail application.

Ruling in the bail application, Justice Gabriel Kolawole, explained that he considered the status of the accused person as a former Head of Service of the Federation for granting him bail on self-recognition.

The second accused Osarenkhoe Afe was also admitted to bail in the sum of 50 million naira and two sureties in the like sum.

The court stated that one of the sureties must be a serving or retired civil servant not below level 16, and that the other surety must be an entrepreneur who owns a landed property worth 75 million Naira and must provide three years tax clearance certificate.

The court further stated that both sureties must provide two passport photographs and swear to an affidavit of means.

The World Bank has unfolded a package which would see it spending up to $2.1 billion in rebuilding the badly devastated North-eastern part of Nigeria, ravaged for the past six years by the Boko Haram insurgency.

At a meeting in Washington on Tuesday with representatives of the World Bank, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the World Health Organization (WHO), President Buhari said that apart from rebuilding the region in terms of infrastructure, priority must also be given to the resettlement of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), who now number over one million.

He urged the World Bank to send a team, which would work in concert with a team from the Federal Government, so that a proper assessment of needs could be done.

The World Bank will spend the 2.1 billion dollars through its IDA (International Development Agency), which gives low interest rates loans to government.

The first 10 years will be interest free, while an additional 30 years will be at lower than capital market rate.

The World Bank is eager to move in quickly, give out the loans, and give succour to the people of North-east, long at the mercy of an insurgency that has claimed over 20,000 souls.

WHO is also to invest 300 million dollars on immunization against malaria in Nigeria, while the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will collaborate with Dangote Foundation to ensure that the country maintains its zero polio case record of the past one year.

If the effort is sustained for another two years, Nigeria will be declared fully free of polio.

Above is Gordon Obua, the former Chief Security Officer, to former President Jonathan. He was presented to the press this evening by the Department of State Security at the SSS headquarters in Abuja following speculations that he died in their custody yesterday.

The DSS wanted to put an end to the false report by presenting Obua to the public. The former CSO, who has been held by the DSS since Thursday, had embarked on hunger strike to protest his detention and fainted on Sunday. He was rushed to the hospital where he was discharged today. He is said to be suffering from hypertension and diabetes. There are also reports that Obua is being denied access to his lawyers and family.

93 Days is a movie centred on the true-life story of men and women who risked their lives and made sacrifices to save people from the consequences of the  Ebola Virus outbreak.

It was a compelling human story of dedication, sacrifice, resilience and survival.

The movie demonstrated the bravery of the late Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh and her colleagues from their encounter with the late American-Liberian, Patrick Sawyer, who was the index case of the Ebola Virus.

The movie was, however, centred towards ensuring that the right medical procedures were in place to stop the spread of the disease in the country.

In celebrating the icons, the producers celebrated their potential to stand for what is right, serve selflessly and make a difference in their world.

According to the producers, 93 Days is definitely a must-watch with a perfect blend of both local and international casts to ensure excellent quality and international exposure was achieved.

Renowned American Theatre practitioner and Filmmaker, Pemon Rami also joined the team as producer.

“Our aim is to create a feature film that would resonate with many people across the world particularly in Nigeria and its sub-region.

“At its core, 93 Days is a tale of common humanity and just how much we can achieve when we stand united.”

The project was a co-production between Michel Angelo Production, Bolanle Austen-Peters Production (BAP) and Natives Film Works.

A combined team of security operatives have recovered at least 2,000 cattles from rustlers in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, north-west Nigeria.

On Tuesday, the security operatives killed three and arrested eight suspected cattle rustlers during a routine operation at a forest, which served as their hideout in the area.

Speaking to reporters after visiting sites of the assembled rescued cows in Birnin Gwari, the State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, commended the security operatives for the successful operation that led to the arrest of the hoodlums and rescue of the stolen cows.

While stating that the problem of cattle rustling and other criminal vices had lingered in the area for too long, Governor El-Rufai said that similar joint security operations were ongoing in neighbouring states like Niger, Katsina, Zamfara and Kebbi.

He, however, called on the people of Kaduna State to assist and pray for the security agencies towards ending the activities of bandits in the state.

Parading the arrested hoodlums at the operational base in Damari, a town in Birnin Gwari, the leader of the Joint Task Force, Captain Ujah, gave an assurance that the days of the remaining criminals terrorising the area were numbered.

In 2013, armed robbers attacked Birnin Gwari, killing 13 people, including two soldiers and some vigilante members.

As a result of the spate of killings and cattle rustling by gunmen in the community and environs, a combined team of soldiers and other security operatives were deployed to the forest bordering the community to flush out the bandits.

The Oyo State Police Command has warned members of the public to be more vigilant while boarding public vehicles so as not to fall prey to kidnappers who disguise as cab drivers within the metropolis.

The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Katsina, who made this known at a press parade in Ibadan disclosed that some taxi drivers now pretend to be cab drivers and kidnap unsuspecting passengers in the process.

Mr Katsina added that some gang of armed robbers were caught while disguising as bridal convoy after snatching exotic cars at gun point.

The Police boss added that some fake soldiers and Police who have been terrorising Oyo and Ogbomosho environs were also caught after a tip off.

Parading various sets of criminal at the State Headquarters in Eleyele, the Commissioner of Police told the press  that despite the fact that criminals are getting smarter by the day, the command has devised means of catching them in the act, no matter how sophisticated.

The Commissioner said that he would remain undaunted in his quest to achieve a sane society where residents are free to move and conduct their businesses without fear.

The Command further enjoined members of the public to feel free to provide information on any unusual movement or conduct in their environment even as it urges better community policing strategies among residents.

I just received this mail and it's so heart-breaking and pathetic how some ignorant men can ruin almost an entire family just because they want to have fun-s3x. If only these men know what they destroyed in the process… if only they knew… Lord have mercy. Her mail after the cut.

After withdrawing the money I got to the park, someone accosted me, telling me he was stranded, if I can help. I took some money and gave him that was the last thing I recalled. I followed him and was gang-raped.

Honestly ,I can't remember most of the details, I don't know if I was drugged or jazzed(please be careful who you help, or don't help at all) I only remembered when I felt pain in my private, but where they took me to? How many they were? Faces? I can't remember anything, I was so ashamed of telling anyone or even going to the hospital.(please go to the hospital if you were raped you can be saved from this life of torture)

Prior to this event, I had a fiancée in the US, I only found out about my status when I went to the American embassy, and was asked to do a comprehensive test. Eventually I told him, he left me.

This event took a toll on my family. My father who was Hypertensive was so depressed it took his life and my Mum? As my father died she never recovered from it. There was no support. I put myself through school and is now a graduate. If I said it was easy I am a liar. I did menial jobs, served as a waiter in hotels; I even worked in construction site.

Why am I putting this up? Well firstly I have searched for a soul mate, most of this dating sites and agents just rip you off the little money you have and secondly,  I  know I deserve to be happy.

I am appealing to you to use your kind platform to help people like myself, put this up so I can find love again.

What I am looking for is a good man who takes God seriously and also can take care of his own. I don't mind location or race, He can either be positive or negative, If he is positive he should be sm1 who takes his health seriously. Even after 11years of living with the disease my CD4 count is always above 800. That is because I take my health seriously.

The Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase has awarded post humous award to the three police officers who were killed in a bomb attack on a military checkpoint in Borno state yesterday July 20th.

In a statement released today July 21st, IGP Arase praised the deceased officers for their commitment to duty even until death. He also announced that 4 children of each of the officers killed will be given scholarship up to their secondary school level. The statement after the cut...

The IGP salutes the courage and gallantry displayed by officers of the Yobe State Police Command in containing the menace of insurgency in the State. He is highly pleased that in spite of imminent challenges, the officers exhibited a high sense of patriotism and dedication to duty.

While regretting the death in active service of three officers in the unfortunate incident of Monday 20th July, 2015, the IGP observed that but for the indomitable spirit, sacrifice and professionalism of the deceased officers, the terrorists would have detonated the explosives in a high profile target. To further consolidate the commendation, the IGP has approved the post-humous promotion of the deceased officers.

He has also ordered the Medical Department to foot the medical bill of the injured officer. In addition, four children each of the deceased officers will be offered scholarship up to secondary school level while the families will be afforded priority in the budding Police Housing Scheme. Similar gesture will be extended to other officers who paid the supreme sacrifice in the course of fighting insurgency.

The Chief Security Officer to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Mr Gordon Obua may not be set free soon by the Department of State service (DSS).

The former CSO is said to have been arrested and placed in custody of the DSS after being treated in a hospital on Monday for an undisclosed ailment.

Mr Obua, who was reported to have died in the custody of the Department of State Service, was brought in to address the media in Abuja on his state of health.

He said that he was alive and well, adding that nothing untoward was happening to him.

He assured members of his family and the general public, who have expressed serious concerns about his state of health, that he was hale and hearty.

Mr Obua, who was not allowed to take questions from journalists, added that he remained a member of the Department of State Service and has not been retired as reported.

Rather, he had been called upon to give account of his stewardship as the Chief Security Officer to former President Goodluck Jonathan.

He was reported to have fainted on Monday after embarking on a hunger’s strike to protest his detention.

Obua has been on detention since July 16.

The artistes' performances featured up and coming acts in PH and transitioned into an unforgettable night when the season 4 winner of project fame, Monica, Mr 2kay, the Woju crooner, Kiss Daniel treated fans to a doubleside night of fun and entertainment. Illbliss showed PH why he is called Oga boss when he dished out old and new tunes from his collection of songs.

The high point of the night was the entry of Mr. Incredible, MI as his entrance was heralded with a standing ovation that left him stunned as the crowd showered him with adulation and sang tunes from his collection of hit songs. Smirnoff ensured that all the guests had a good time as they all had a taste of new amazing drink, Smirnoff Ice Guarana.
