Defending champions Barça open their title defence on 28 October in Extremadura
At midday on Friday at La Ciudad del Fútbol of Las Rozas in Madrid, the pairings for the last 32 of this year's Copa del Rey were drawn and FC Barcelona was paired with CF Villanovense, currently in the Second Division. CF Villanovense, from Villanueva de la Serena in Badajoz, Extremadura, was founded in 1992 and has never faced Barça. They are currently in 14th place in group 4 with 9 points through 8 games.
The first leg of the last 32 tie will be played on 28 October while the return leg is scheduled to be held on 2 December at Camp Nou. Kick off time is still to be confirmed.
FC Barcelona are not only the reigning champions of the Copa del Rey, but they are also the club that has won the most titles — 27 all-time.
