Two people have been arrested and charged with child neglect after police say they left a 3-month-old baby unattended in hot running water, causing severe burns on the baby's body.
Marlon Valentine, 39, and Favian Houston, 29, both face charges of endangering the life of a child and child neglect.

Police say the two allegedly left the baby unattended in a sink smelling of urine with hot running water, causing second degree burns to five percent of the baby's body. Valentine and Houston also did not provide medical care for the child in a timely period, police said.

DCFS also removed two other children, ages 2 and 4, from their residence that appeared underweight and not properly cared for, police said. They were treated at a local hospital and released to another family member.

Valentine and Houston were taken into custody Friday and both posted bond.

Vice President Osinbajo, while answering questions from journamists at a wedding he attended at the Cathedral Church of the Good Shepherd, Anglican Communion, Enugu, during the weekend, said that the worst problem plaguing people of the South-Eastern area was bad roads, adding that the situation required urgent Federal Government attention.
Prof. Osinbajo stated that even though the government has some financial constraints, there was urgent need to improve on the roads in the region where commerce is the source of income for the people. He said that he had discussed the issue with Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State.

He said:

"One problem that the people of the South-East have is roads. You know what our financial constraints are, and there is a need for improvement on roads where there is a lot of commerce and movement of people. There is need to raise the value of naira by discouraging importation of some items so that the economy will improve."

In a homily at the church, Arch. Bishop of the Enugu Ecclesiastical Province, Anglican Communion, His Grace, Emmanuel Chukwuma, appealed to the Federal Government to create employment for the teeming unemployed youths in the country, living in poverty.

It was two and half years ago… a simple phone call, that was it. If I can recall properly it was about 4pm, 3rd July, 2013. My phone rang it's a strange number and I picked up! 'Hello', he said, 'my name is AMBROSE'. We got talking for about 10 minutes. Hmm…blind me. I thought he was some guy I knew from school.
Eventually, I must confess his charisma and voice on the phone was too sweet and overwhelming that I couldn't wait to talk to him over and over again. It continued for about a month then we finally met in Abuja. He explained in detail how he got my number. It was through an Aunt of mine, Old-fashioned match making… I never believed in it or thought it could happen to me.
Without delay and a single doubt from him, He asked me out! And then my wedding fairytale began. We talked a lot over the phone, struggled with carving out time to see each other because of the distance due to work. Thank God for the nature of his job, visitations to Abuja were frequent. It was like a Bee seeking for honey! My clock stopped ticking each time he was in town. ECSTASY!!!! Is the best word to explain it.

The Old fashion saying "it is not good for a man to be alone" jolted me into action to search for my heartthrob.
Chilling July 3rd, 2013, I finally decided to call this lady that her number was given to me by my Aunt. Match making I knew it was, after all there is no harm in trying. I then put the call through, Hello she said….In my thoughts nice calm voice….and the conversation went on with my nervous introduction. Gentle, nice, slow and steady it all went.
I decide to put up a visit after a month of our jolly conversations on the phone and some secret admiring on Facebook. 
 It was all funny and awkward initially trying to put all the comfortable phone conversations to a face with lots of shy eye to eye glimpse. I remember very well it was almost difficult for her to look into my eyes.
 I was at ease and pleased with our relationship I decided to ask her out. I didn't mince my words I told her I wanted this relationship to develop into a strong solid bond.
It was challenging having to manage work and the distance but we made the best out of it all.

The Proposal

After a year of our relationship I decided to take it to the next step. It was nerve racking having to choose how I would break my intent to her. Thanks to my brother and friend Tunde Onoviran with his  louding help and advice in the ring selection.
The Proposal: 14^th September, 2014, She came to visit me in Lagos. I took the bold step and decided to keep it simple and confined to ourselves.
It was an early cool quite Sunday morning, while she was still struggling to wake up. I remember I was smartly dressed and I was sitting down beside her. I said, "Good morning darling, my sugar, 'Ihotukum' (my love), 'Enekole' (mother of the house)", I called her many other names I shouldn't bore you with… the different things she is to me. I went down on my. I asked her if she would do me the honor of marrying me. She was shocked. I couldn't wait for her to say yes. With tears in her eyes… she looked in my eyes and said Yes. Yes, I will marry you.

Daily Mail: So was it a bomb? Experts reveal Russian passenger plane which crashed and killed all 224 on board broke up at high altitude

* Sergei Trukhachev spoke to his daughter minutes before taking off and expressed concerns about the jet's safety
* His wife Natalya told Russian television he believed the 'technical condition of the aircraft left much to be desired'
* Egyptian aircraft engineers said they spent 35 minutes with the aircraft before it took off at 3.50am yesterday
* They claimed the aircraft was 'good' when it left, yet it broke up in mid-air only 23 minutes later killing 224 people

Russian air crash investigators have confirmed that an Airbus A321 which vanished from radar some 23 minutes after taking off from Sharm el-Sheikh broke up at high altitude.

Alexander Neradko, head of Russia's federal aviation agency, confirmed that the jet disintegrated at high altitude in a remote area where Egypt is fighting ISIS and Al Qaeda-backed terrorists.

Mr Neradko refused to comment on the cause of the crash, claiming the investigation was ongoing, but terrorism experts believe that a bomb could have been responsible.

Reuters: Turkey returns to single-party rule in boost for Erdogan

Turkey's Islamist-rooted AK Party swept to an unexpected victory in elections on Sunday, returning the country to single-party rule in an outcome that will boost the power of President Tayyip Erdogan but may sharpen deep social divisions.

With almost all ballots counted, the AKP had taken just shy of 50 percent of the votes, comfortably enough to control a majority in the 550-seat parliament and a far higher margin of victory than even party insiders had expected.

Erdogan said the outcome was a vote for stability, and a message to Kurdish insurgents in the country's restive southeast that violence could not coexist with democracy.

Times of Israel: IDF warns soldiers against CIA recruitment efforts

Unusual letter issued by Military Intelligence calls on all soldiers and officers to 'remain alert and report any unusual incidents'

Military Intelligence has issued a letter warning all soldiers and officers in the Israel Defense Forces against attempts by the American Central Intelligence Agency to recruit Israeli soldiers.

"Be alert and report any unusual incidents," the letter urged, according to a report by Channel 2 Sunday.

In the letter, Military Intelligence described a case that took place in 2012 when Israelis who served in sensitive and confidential roles were grilled for hours when they traveled to the United States.

According to a report on the case published in the Hebrew-language daily Yedioth Ahronoth, American interrogators, presumably CIA operatives, tried to convince the Israelis to join the ranks of the spy agency.

A young couple moved into a new neighbourhood. The next morning while eating breakfast, the young woman saw her neighbour through the window hanging the wash outside.

"That laundry is not clean," she said. "She doesn't know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap".

Her husband looked on, but remained silent. Every time the neighbour would hang laundry to dry, the young woman would make the same
comments.

About one month later, the woman was surprised to see nice clean wash on the line and said to her husband: "Look, she has learnt how to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her this!"

The husband replied: "I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows."

And so it is with life.

What we see when watching others depends on the purity of the window through which we look.

Easy to discuss other people, their lives and things that don't really concern us.

Yet we tend to forget- our window isn't that clean after all.

Clean up your window with the WORD! (THE TRUTH.)

LORD, please give us the strength, humility and courage that we may work on our faults first rather than seeing the faults in Others and castigating them.

USA Today: 16 times Obama said there would be no boots on the ground in Syria

WASHINGTON — Since 2013, President Obama has repeatedly vowed that there would be no "boots on the ground" in Syria.

But White House press secretary Josh Earnest said the president's decision Friday to send up to 50 special forces troops to Syria doesn't change the fundamental strategy: "This is an important thing for the American people to understand. These forces do not have a combat mission."

Earnest said the promises of "no boots on the ground" first came in the context of removing Syrian President Bashar Assad because of his use of chemical weapons. Since then, Syria has become a haven for Islamic State fighters.

Shayna Hubers shot boyfriend, Ryan six times, one straight in the face after finding out he not only planned to dump her but had a replacement lined up. University graduate Shayna was 21 when she started dating handsome lawyer Ryan Poston, 29. 

When the couple were introduced, Ryan had just got out of a long-term relationship and didn't see Shayna as a serious girlfriend. Almost straight away he lost interest, but Shayna wasn't happy to end things. The pair dated on and off for a year, with Ryan telling friends he wanted to finish with Shayna but didn't want to hurt her feelings. 

She was sending him endless phone messages and would turn up at his flat unannounced. Finally, Ryan told his step-dad, Jay, he was going to end the relationship. On the night of October 12, 2012, Shayna made a hysterical 911 call from Ryan's Kentucky penthouse apartment and reported a shooting.

"I'm standing about 10ft from his dead body!" Shayna screamed to the operator. When asked what had happened, she replied, "Ma'am, I killed my boyfriend."

Shayna freely admitted she'd killed Ryan, but insisted it had been in self-defence. The police weren't so sure. They discovered Ryan had told his step-dad the day before that he was going to end things with Shayna and had already set up a date that very night with the 2012 Miss Ohio, the gorgeous Audrey Bolte.

Audrey, who was also a runner-up Miss USA, revealed she was looking forward to seeing Ryan on their date. They were due to meet in a bar for drinks and a game of pool. He never showed.

In April this year, Shayna, 24, was found guilty of first degree murder.

Two months later, Shayna was sentenced to 40 years in prison, with no option of early parole and was condemned by the judge for showing zero remorse.
