New signing welcomed to his new home by thousands of adoring supporters on Friday morning
Wearing his new kit, as yet without a number on the back, the latest arrival at FC Barcelona, Arda Turan, has made his first contact with his new supporters on the Camp Nou turf. Some 10,000 fans were in the stadium for the traditional photo shoot on the pitch. The Turk received a red carpet welcome and then delighted the crowd with a display of ball skills, before kicking said balls, all which he had signed beforehand, into the stands to be kept as cherished souvenirs by some lucky members of the crowd.
On a scorching hot Friday morning, events had started with the player signing his five-year contract with his new club. After that he answered the media's questions at his first official press conference. It was there that he revealed that "it has been my dream to play for Barça since I was a kid. I wanted to come here because Barça is so much more than a club."
